Rachael Banks creates photographs rooted in long-term observation.

Rachael’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with solo exhibitions at the Weston Art Gallery (Cincinnati) and the Carnegie Center for Art and Art History (New Albany), and group exhibitions at institutions including KMAC Contemporary Art Museum, Silver Eye Center for Photography, and Candela Gallery. Her photographs have appeared in The New York Times, Orion Magazine, NPR, Libération, Vice, and Lenscratch. She is recognized as a New York Times Portfolio Review alumna, a PhotoLucida Critical Mass Top 200 finalist, a Silver Eye Fellowship honoree, and a featured artist in the FotoFocus Biennial: backstories.

Rachael was born in Louisville, KY and currently lives in Newport, KY. She received an MFA in photography from Texas Woman’s University in 2015. Rachael compulsively photographs deer and black dogs.
